The Daily World Watch came into existence around May of 2015 after being thoroughly motivated by the Weekly World Watch that bro. Andy Walton had been sending out to many brethren around the world. His enthusiastic approach and talent in handling the Word of God which he shared with his readers had always boosted my faith as world events in the Middle East continued to fulfill prophecy. After all, the return of Christ had always played a paramount part in my biblical studies, and I was eager to get a hold of as much news as I could on that subject. And as more and more End Time signs appeared, I came to the point whereby I would continually check my email to see if he had published his weekly news report which normally would be sent out on Friday or Saturday. So, as many important pieces of the prophetic puzzle were coming to pass, I found that I could no longer wait for the next edition to be published, and I decided to do one of my own but on a daily basis.
I found that there were many brethren who had extremely busy schedules in their daily life and that the time needed to devote to watching what was going on in the world was definitely lacking. After all, the main import of the Scriptures was that Christ would return at a certain time and that we should be able to discern those times by what was going on in the world. It therefore became a necessity to be watching and waiting for his arrival so as not to be found without oil in our lamps. And as a few brethren mentioned to me: I get up at 5am to get ready for work, do my morning chores, grab something to eat and then immediately head out on my 30 minute drive to work. At the end of my workday, I'd do the return trip home, greet my children and wife and immediately sit down for dinner to be served. After that I would play with the kids for a few moments and then get ready to head out to Bible class which was a 15 minute drive. By the time I arrived home after that, my day had ended and I was basically physically exhausted and ready for bed.
After hearing that same scenario numerous times by various brethren, I wanted to devise a means whereby the Daily World Watch could be viewed in as little as one minute just by glancing at the headlines and if more time permitted, one could very easily just click on the highlighted link to get further details. This way, it could very easily be done at the breakfast table in the snap of a finger and thereby setting the mood for the rest of the day without missing what had transpired the day or night before.
I started out by sending it to all the interested brethren in my hometown meeting and usually once a week would give an in-person 5 minute update to the ecclesia on a Sunday morning. After a while, news of my reporting had spread to others in various ecclesias, and then to brethren around the world. So of course, I didn't want anyone to be left out in the cold, so I started sending out to as many who would request it.
Then along came bro. Tanner Hawkins who was given the task of continuing bro. Harold Lafferty's prophecy letter. He immediately started out by sending his Gospel Proclamation which would delve into the details of how these signs of the times would jive with what the Bible had prophesied would happen just prior to Christ's coming. His enthusiasm and love for the Truth, coupled with his vast understanding of Scripture was evident in all his writings and gave an in-depth study into why and where events were happening. His intent, as well as that of bro. Andy and mine, are to keep everyone as alert as possible to the nearness of Christ's return.
